If you keep doing one particular thing over and over again while growing up, it eventually becomes second nature to you. Sometimes, you won’t even notice that you’re already doing it.
A dog rescuer from Sweetwater, Texas named Bri Burnett, actually experienced the same phenomenon. Apparently, she grew up in an environment wherein hurt or injured animals are brought home to get treatment.
That’s why when she encounters animals in such traumatic conditions, her instinct tells her to do whatever she can to make it better or alleviate their condition.
One sunny day, Bri received a call from a friend who reported that she saw a suffering and severely injured dog. She wasted no time and checked the dog’s condition.
When she arrived at the location, she saw a Labrador mix crying because a porcupine pierced her with countless quills. To make it even worse, the Labrador seems starving, yet she could barely move her face.
Bri brought the dog to the vet to get treatment at once. The removal of the porcupine quills took 45 minutes. Despite the expensiveness of such a delicate procedure, Bri paid for it from her pocket.
Later on, the dog rescuer tried to locate the owners by contacting them through the Labrador’s microchip. However, the contact information is not even updated. Therefore it made her attempt unsuccessful.
At that moment, Bri decided to reach out to find someone who will take Jojo in. A person who will love and consider her their family for the poor dog to avoid such a traumatic situation ever again.
Some people went out and gave their prayers for the poor Jojo. But one certain woman named, Haylee Stewart couldn’t get over her fascination with the dog’s calm demeanor.
Eventually, she volunteered to take Jojo in as her family. The abandoned dog finally got her forever family.
Here’s the report about Jojo’s rescue:
