Wesley White was working as a photographer in Thatch Caye and thought of going kayaking to another island. While he was sitting down and resting, in the corner of his eye, he saw a dog. When the dog came closer, White could see that he was very emaciated and needed help.
He wrapped the dog in an old swimming trunk and put him in the kayak. He was not sure if people will help him with the dog when he gets to the island, but he soon found out that people in the area were very helpful. People gave him cans of dog food, and they even called friends to ask where the nearest vet was.
White brought the dog to Belize and had him checked out. It was fortunate that all the blood works came clean and that he was going to be okay. Since White was flying home the next day, he needed to find a foster parent fast, and he found Melanie, who became the dog’s foster mom.
Melanie has been Winston’s foster mom for two months, and Winston has completely transformed. From an emaciated dog to a very healthy one. Finally, White got the news that Winston got the clearance from the vet and was ready to fly anytime. They booked a flight for Winston to travel from Belize City to Dallas, and White was so excited.
When Winston arrived in Dallas and met the man who saved him, it only took a few sniffing to recognize his hero. Winston even met his new siblings that very night, and they hit it off right away. It was fate that brought White to that deserted island, and it was destiny that brought Winston to him.
Because White did not ignore the dog that needed help, Winston gets a second chance at life. One month since arriving at his new home, Winston continues to do great and continues to live happily with his new family.
